It's LGBT+ Pride Month

I am beyond honored to be recognized by the California State University system for my work for the LGBT+ community: https://www2.calstate.edu/csu-system/news/Pages/30-Days-of-Pride.aspx.

We are fortunate in Paganism that our sexual orientations and gender identities are typically welcomed by all traditions. As I wrote about the Between the Veils conference, queer and intersectional voices were front and center at most of the talks and many, many participants were openly queer. We are certainly everywhere!

My wife and I saw the FX series called Pride. It was a wonderful overview of queerness from the 1950's through 2000. Excellent stories and film from many decades made an uplifting and at times, sobering documentary. We still have issues to confront, particularly with our BIPOC trans community and the too often violence they face. However, since I came out, we had made incredible progress.

So celebrate this June if you are queer or are a queer ally and recognize just how far we've come. Do research on queer deities in pagan traditions. Do some queer magic. Meditate on queer joy.

Sonoma County events this month:

Love is love. I offer my gratitude to all those who came before me and paved the way for me to feel free to be who I am. Mighty queer ancestors, I honor you!
